Hey all

On the chance of sounding preachy.....

I know you are all probably sick of hearing "You should apply" and so on
and so forth. However, I know from first hand experience that the CCGS
really just wants to help students out. Last semester, I received a
scholarship to help pay for field camp. You might think that the
application is long for $500 but sometimes they give more. On top of this,
they receive hardly any applications from TAMUCC students so they end up
giving a bunch of money to Kingsville students. I know they try to split
it evenly among the two schools so you really do have the chance to get
FREE money. I have also heard of some students receiving additional/other
funds from CCGS members who just want to help. With that being said, take
the 20 minutes to fill our the app, write your 1 page essay and ask a
couple of professors for their time. You won't ever get anything if you
don't ask for it.
