On Thursday, May 3rd (Reading Day) from 12:30-5pm we will be previewing sessions for this summer's Islander Launch and we will have a live student audience to provide feedback to presenters. We've reserved several rooms in Bay Hall. Interested students should email orientation at tamucc.edu<mailto:orientation at tamucc.edu> for more info! We will accept the first 50 students who contact us. We will provide food and t-shirts to student participants.

We are looking to hire around 20 students to help with Islander Launch this summer. Students can start their application TODAY through Handshake<http://career-services.tamucc.edu/Hire%20An%20Islander/index.html> (Career Service's new HireAnIslander platform). The application ID is #1469495 for the position "Orientation Student Leader." If you know students who would be GREAT at making incoming students and family feel welcome, please share the following link: https://tamucc.joinhandshake.com/jobs/1469495. The application is tentatively set to expire this Friday, April 27th. We appreciate your help spreading the word.
We also need volunteers to PLAY and HAVE FUN when our students and guests arrive on campus for check-in and during the Islander Launch Luau at the end of the day. Please email orientation at tamucc.edu<mailto:orientation at tamucc.edu> if you're interested in kayaking, flying a kite, holding up welcome signs, waving to our new students/guests, throwing a frisbee, or any other fun activity. We are looking for volunteers from 7-8:30AM and 4:30-6PM.
