College of S&E Students and Faculty:

Dr. Jerry Dickens from Rice University will be this Friday’s HRI seminar speaker. Jerry is a professor of Earth Science, and his talk titled “A Global Carbon Cycle with Seafloor Methane” will be held on Friday, September 26 in the HRI conference room at 03:30 pm.

Although Jerry’s talk will focus on gas hydrates and seafloor methane, his research interests range from geochemical cycling of elements during major oceanographic change over sediment-hosted metalliferous ore deposits to the study of mixed siliciclastic/carbonate margins.

Jerry will be available to meet with interested students, postdocs, and faculty on Friday before his presentation. Please let me know if you are interested in meeting with him during any of the following times:

Friday, September 26:

11:00 – 11:30 am
11:30 – noon
01:00 – 01:30 pm
01:30 – 02:00 pm
02:00 – 02:30 pm

All meetings will be in HRI 122A.

Hope to see you there,
-Thomas
