iCORE will be hosting a workshop on Presentation and Poster Strategies tomorrow, Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM, presented by (soon-to-be!!) Dr. Miranda White.

I highly recommend CS students doing their capstone to attend; Miranda is a seriously good presenter and speaker who's won several awards for her poster and oral presentations at conferences. This workshop will have a lot of useful tips and advice for anyone who might struggle with putting together a research poster, delivering an effective presentation flow, and general skills with showcasing work and speaking to an audience.

Miranda White is a doctoral researcher in Coastal and Marine System Science at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. She successfully defended her dissertation in June and will graduate this December. Her user-centered research combines coastal science, machine learning, uncertainty quantification, and risk communication to support coastal decision-making. Working with the Coastal Dynamics Lab, NOAA, and NCAR, she studies how decision-makers interpret, trust, and use forecasts to manage cold-stunning risks.
