iCORE will be hosting a workshop for Computer Science students (though all majors are welcome!) on the CS Job Interview Process for Industry, Academia and Research Labs this Thursday, October 8 2026 at 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM. Presenters are Burak Ersoy, Daniel Clancy, and Dr. Evan Krell who will be providing their insight on what employers are looking for in a candidate in today's job market.

Dr Evan Krell - Postdoctoral Research Scientist, Naval Research Laboratory

Dr. Evan Krell received his PhD in Geospatial Computer Science from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi in 2024.  His doctoral research focused on Explainable Artificial Intelligence, especially for environmental applications. He then moved to Monterey, California to join the Naval Research Laboratory  –  Marine Meteorology Division as a postdoctoral researcher working on machine learning weather forecasting. Evan will discuss the process of internships at a national lab and how important internships can be toward a full-time position after graduation. He will also discuss things he did here at TAMUCC that led to the internship and made the internship successful.

Burak Ersoy - Associate Director (Data & AI), Impact Advisors

Burak Ersoy is an Associate Director with Impact Advisors in Plano, Texas. He is a results-driven professional with a dynamic career spanning roles such as Product Owner, Scrum Master, Project Manager, Business Intelligence Developer, and Academic Faculty. He consistently delivers innovative solutions and measurable results across the healthcare and technology sectors. He will discuss the interview process in industry describing what the employer is looking for at each stage. Burak holds an MS in Computer Science from TAMUCC and was an instructor at the university for several years.

Daniel Clancy - IT Manager, Telecommunications, TAMUCC

Daniel Clancy is the Manager of IT Telecommunications at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. He has more than a decade of experience in telecommunications and information technology, with work spanning network operations, wireless communications, technical support, regulatory compliance, and large-scale service delivery. At TAMU-CC, he oversees voice, data, and video communications infrastructure and has helped lead major telecommunications projects, including the university’s transition to a cloud-based telephony platform. Daniel holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Texas A&M University–Kingsville and an MBA from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi.
