*Job Description :
Purpose/Function of Position: The Database Specialist is involved in all aspects of database design, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, and data quality control and provides technical expertise in the use of database management systems. The Database Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the organization's website design, architecture, editing, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: Database maintenance
* Performs database programming and supports systems design, includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.
* Design and modify existing queries, create new reports, and modify existing reports based on user request.
* Identify and understand Agency requirements and translate requirements into database functionality.
* Develop data models and re-design database architecture to accommodate user requirements.
* Interface directly with internal and external clients to identify and create new tables, user interfaces, reports and graphs.
* Make necessary modifications to the database system with user feedback and usability improvements.
* Reorganize the basic structure of the database to align with current best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: Quality control
* Interface with technology vendor and third parties to update, test, modify and troubleshoot database systems and modifications.
* Develop standard operating procedures of data entry and maintenance to sustain the security and integrity of data.
* Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
* Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans.
* Audit, modify, and amend data to ensure optimum performance.
* Ensure security and integrity of system and data.
* Take ownership of database issues reported and see problems through to resolution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: Website and online media creation and maintenance
* Act as webmaster of the agency website.
* Create and maintain the online content management system.
* Create, edit, and remove content from the website as needed.
* Research new online technologies, updates and trends to keep the agency web presence current and secure.
* Adjust visual design and accessibility of the website to allow future projects such as marketing/donors.
* Collaborate with staff and administration to research, implement, and maintain agency social media assets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: Special Projects
* Assist with preparation of presentations, proposals, meeting material and technical documentation.
* Train staff, as needed, on database entry, data modification, and generating reports.
* Advise, collaborate, and/or create materials and reports for any future special projects at the discretion of the President and CEO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA: General Administration
* Ensure that appropriate records are maintained for reporting requirements.
* Ensure that an accurate record of work hours, mileage, etc. is maintained.
* Ensure timely preparation of administrative documents and reports as requested/required by the President and CEO.
Flexible schedule/hours. Will consider both part-time and full-time options.

Qualifications :
Knowledge of Osnium software and working knowledge of grant reporting preferred. Experience creating and maintaining a web presence preferred. Excellent analytical and technical acuity and ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and business needs. Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Demonstrated knowledge of database design and data techniques. Familiar with network administration and server hardware and assisting with troubleshooting technological problems. Capable of managing shifting short-term goals and multiple deadlines with ability to deliver long- term projects. High level of personal integrity is necessary. Flexible, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities with ability to work with minimal supervision. Maintain professional conduct and represent the Agency in a professional manner
