Geology Students:



The Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) is a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded program that will provide stipend support for undergraduate students in STEM to do a research project with a TAMUCC faculty/lab group.



Dr. Richard Coffin’s lab would be interested to take one undergraduate student through LSAMP program for an ongoing project studying the carbon cycle associated with the methane seeps in deep oceans. The project will provide training in sediment characterization for extracting the organic molecular fossils (biomarkers) and/or isotope analysis. There will also be opportunity to present the results at a national conference upon successful completion of the project.
