The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT)<http://pull.xmr3.com/p/7725-A654/123349869/html004-amnh.org-mat.html> program at the American Museum of Natural History<http://pull.xmr3.com/p/7725-D169/123352438/html005-amnh.org.html> in New York City offers Earth and space science graduates a chance to make a difference. This teaching fellowship combines coursework, mentoring, and real-world experience to prepare graduates for rewarding careers as middle and high school teachers. We hope that you will share this information widely with your students and colleagues.
With a sole focus on preparing new Earth science teachers, the MAT program is a full-time, 15-month Master's program that takes place at the museum and in urban partner schools<http://pull.xmr3.com/p/7725-E6EB/123352442/html006-www.amnh.orgschool-profiles.html>. We seek a student body with diverse life and career experience, and the application is open to all candidates meeting the eligibility requirements<http://pull.xmr3.com/p/7725-0051/123349881/html007-www.amnh.orgeligibility.html>. All degree candidates will receive free tuition and books and a $30,000 living stipend<http://pull.xmr3.com/p/7725-C350/123349885/html008-www.amnh.orgfinancial-support.html>. In return, candidates commit to teaching in a high-needs school in New York State for four years.
