     The first CCGS/CBGS luncheon of the year is coming up next 
Wednesday, 16 Oct, from ~11:30 am-1:00 pm.  Besides hearing an 
interesting talk, as students, your lunch is completely free provided 
you simply RSVP ahead of time.  This is great opportunity to hear some 
applied science, meet folks from downtown, and also have a free lunch so 
I encourage to you take part.  Details about the talk and RSVP'ing can 
be found below.  Note that this will not be in its typical location just 
this month because of a scheduling issue.  Hope to see you there!

The Corpus Christi Geological Society and Coastal Bend Geophysical 
Society *October Luncheon* will be held *Wednesday*, *October 16, 
2013*at the *_Water Street Seafood Company- Upstairs Banquet Room._*

Thank you to /_Core Lab (Juan Cabasos)_/, our bar sponsor this month. 
Drinks will be served beginning at 11:30 am, lunch will be served at 
11:45 am and the meeting will begin at 12 pm.

This month's speaker will be /_Jamie Rich-Professor at University of 
Oklahoma,_/ on /"Unconventional Geophysics: Unique Approaches for Unique

Luncheon cost for members is $25.00. If you are not a member you can 
join at any time. Students will be admitted at no cost with reservation
