Dear SIPES Member:



     The SIPES Foundation Board of Directors has extended the deadline date for receiving SIPES Foundation Earth Science Scholarship applications to July 31, 2013.  Please help this important program by notifying your favorite university earth science or engineering department about the availability of these awards, and the new deadline date.  Awards begin at $2000, and the requirements for scholarship applicants are:

  1.  U.S. Citizenship
  2.  Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited university as an upper-division (junior or senior level) or graduate student majoring in a field of earth science or engineering
  3.  Applicants should have an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  4.  Applicants are asked to submit an application form, transcript, and three letters of recommendation

   An email will be sent to members in the early fall listing the winning students.  Thank you in advance for helping with this project.  Last year the SIPES Foundation presented nine awards to earth science and engineering students totaling $20,500, and hopes to do this again in 2013.
