For those of you working on an undergraduate research project, here's a 
great opportunity for some funds to help promote your research.

Note that the abstract deadline for the next South-Central GSA meeting 
to be held in Austin from 4-5 April 2013 has already closed.  So the 
target for presenting results (or at least a status update) would be the 
annual meeting in Denver in late October. Travel grants to that meeting 
are also available (in addition to these grants to supplement your 
research).

The South-Central Section

the Geological Society of America is pleased to offer competitive 
undergraduate research grants to students enrolled in universities in 
the South-Central Section and who are student associates or members of 
the Geological Society of America.

The undergraduate grant application is on the section website. Students 
should have the objective of presenting the results of their research at 
a South-Central Section or the Geological Society of Annual America 
Meeting (27-30 October 2013 -- Denver, CO).

We look forward to reviewing your applications and hearing about the 
results of funded research.
