TAMUCC Students are admitted for free to all home Islander athletic
events with valid Sanddollar ID

 

 

 Interested in being Izzy the Islander?

 

Mascot Information:
Izzy the Islander attends all Islanders home athletic events at the
Moody Fieldhouse (volleyball) on the TAMUCC campus, at the American Bank
Center (basketball) and at Whataburger Field (baseball) downtown
throughout the academic year. In addition, Izzy is required to attend
events on-campus to promote school spirit, including but not limited to
Islander Invasion, Homecoming, and pep rallies. There are also other
occasions when Izzy is needed for University functions and community
events on and off-campus throughout the year as determined by the
Athletic Director or Assistant Athletic Director.

 

 

 

Requirements

 

*	Applicants must be currently enrolled at Texas A&M
University-Corpus Christi. 
*	Applicants must be in good standing with Texas A&M
University-Corpus Christi and not on disciplinary probation. 
*	Applicants must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. 

*	Dance and interact with fans 
*	Athletic skills, strength and abilities appropriate for required
activities 
*	Charismatic presence and personality 
*	Confidence and enthusiasm

Applicants must be in good health and physically capable of performing
safely.

Is there only one Izzy?

A -

Because of the number of events and potential for class conflicts during
the academic year, there may be up to five students selected for Izzy.

Do you offer scholarships or other financial aid?

A -

Along with the prestige of being Izzy, students selected will receive
compensation for each event they attend as Izzy.

Q -

Are there any size or costume restrictions for Izzy?

A -

Izzys feet are mens shoe size 11. Due to the significant amount of
movement that Izzy will do during an event, only applicants with feet
size 11 and smaller will be considered.
