Hello to All:
The Cabeza de Vaca invites you to participate in our upcoming Classroom Visits and Family Science Nights we will be having this Fall 2006 semester. We are looking for volunteers who are current TAMU-CC students, have a good attitude with working with children and are dependable and trustworthy to work with. If you are a current TAMU-CC student and fill out all the required paperwork to participate, you are eligible to help out!
Here is a brief explanation of our events:
Classroom visits are all day events where we visit a classroom and do an interactive science lab with the students. Your responsibilities will be to work with the students in activities from the lesson, as well as have the opportunity to teach the actual lesson to 1-2 classes that day. There are 10 classroom visit events available. (Keep in mind, you do not have to be a science/education major or create your own lesson, all the information and lessons will be made out by our office) Stipend Pay: $100
Family Science Nights are afternoon events where we put on an evening of science activities for students and parents at their school. Your responsibilities would consist of being in charge of a science station activity. Procedure and directions will be given to you prior to the event. There are only 2 Family Science Night events available this semester. Stipend Pay: $50
If you are interested, please continue reading the available dates and information below and sign up by email (mail to Andrea.Hiracheta at tamucc.edu <mailto:Andrea.Hiracheta at tamucc.edu> ). Please be sure to include the following items: Name, Phone Number (preferably cell phone), email address and the dates you would like to participate in. I will then notify you about the space available and with the appropriate forms to be filled out.
If you are unable to participate, please feel free to forward this opportunity to a currently enrolled TAMU-CC student who might be interested. Any questions, please feel free to contact me!
Thank you for your time and hope to hear from any interested students! :)
Sincerely,
Andrea M. Hiracheta
