Dr. Julie Bloxson, Assistant Professor at Stephen F. Austin University, is seeking a MS student to start work in the fall on a project on the LouAnn Salt through a funded Research Assistantship. The project will involve looking at the geochemistry of the LouAnn
in core and cuttings, both onshore and offshore. </div>

The study will determine depositional and diagenetic history of the LouAnn Salt and allocthonous evaporite bodies located within the region. This will be achieved by (1) geochemical analyses conducted to determine mineralogy and trace element geochemistry,
specifically focusing on rare earth elements and how they were incorporated into the LouAnn Salt and allocthonous evaporite bodies. (2) correlations to the well log and interpolated between wells using well log analyses. (3) comparison of offshore Louann
Salt to onshore LouAnn salt cores to determine changes with location. (4) typing the well log into the local seismic survey to map the bodies throughout the field.</div>
