<div>Essential duties include supervising plugging operations for State-Funded Plugging Program. Work may also include preparing requests for the use of state funds to plug abandoned wells which became our responsibility, preparing and evaluating bids, arranging
primary contractor and outside services related to state-funded plugging operations, and auditing and processing invoices and payment vouchers to assure compliance with state procurement procedures. Additional duties include performing technical fieldwork
related to oilfield operations in the Houston District Office. Work is related to the drilling, production, and transportation of crude oil and involves conduction of surveys, making inspections, and the collection and correlation of engineering and geological
data. To properly accomplish the specific tasks assigned, this job requires that the employee must be able to drive a car/pickup and hold a valid Texas drivers license with visual acuity and ability to discern colors. Employee must be able to climb vertical
ladders to a height of 16 feet to gauge tanks. Gauging tanks also requires manual dexterity to use gauge lines and color cut as well as other testing equipment such as saltwater testing requiring titration of fluids. Employee must also be able to change a
tire on a 3Ž4 ton pickup. In making lease and other inspections, employee will be required to walk up to two miles in all types of weather. Must be able to carry a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) for up to 30 minutes in H2S sour gas. In locating
lines and wells as well as taking soil samples, employee will be required to use a shovel or other digging tools and dig to a depth of 30" or more in case of wellhead location. Employee must be able to communicate effectively on radio, telephone, and in person.
Employee must have good writing skills and be able to follow detailed instructions in the completion of forms and writing reports. In addition to the specific tasks listed on this evaluation form, the employee may be given additional related essential task
to maintain production workflow. This is the semi-skilled level of work dealing with the technical aspects of engineering and geological support activities and continues the opportunity to acquire further experience in all assigned areas.</div>
<div>Qualifications :</div>
<div>B.S. in Engineering, geology, or other scientific degree from an accredited four year college or university and twelve (12) months experience. Experience and education may be substituted on a year for year basis. Must have knowledge of higher math, good
writing skills and possess working skills in the use of oil field tools and an ability to supervise. Knowledge of engineering techniques and principles or practical knowledge of geological techniques and theories, and skilled in the application of geology
concepts. Ability to use and operate a computer and proficiency with MS Office software products is required. Must have a valid Texas Drivers License and a good driving record.</div>
