<p>Title: Towards Human-Centered Assistive Robotics: Multimodal Human-Robot Interaction, Edge Intelligence and Autonomous Navigation<o:p></o:p></p>
<p>Abstract: “In this presentation, we will discuss the development of multimodal edge-based assistive human robot interactive systems that are human-centered such that people with disabilities can use different kinds of modalities to access the robotic system,
 even when they are at a distance from each other, to engage in human robot interactive tasks. We first discuss the research questions that are put in focus related to the system and the development of each individual component related to the system and integrating
 them. We show the way concepts from different research areas such as IoT, Edge Computing, Deep Learning, Computer Vision and Robotics are integrated to develop the system. Also we show the application of such systems in different real-world based scenarios.
 Finally, we showcase how these systems can be expanded to different complex environments and scenarios where humans with different disabilities can be put in the loop and perform mutual human robot interaction in those environments to execute various complex
 tasks.”<o:p></o:p></p>
